FAQ And Troubleshooting
Short answers for common Cropdeck questions asked by players on Discord: mechanics, unlocks, scarecrows, and known issues.
Why Are Some Values Missing?
Exact costs, yields, upgrade values, and passive numbers need verification. The site would rather show a clear unknown than publish a precise-looking guess.
What Does “Yield” Mean?
Yield = individual vegetable produced by a crop card. A crop that says “4x3” produces 3 individual yields, each worth 4 coins (12 coins total). This distinction matters because “per yield” effects (like the Sprinkler scarecrow, which adds +1 value per yield) trigger once per individual vegetable, not once per card. Three yields means three triggers.
How Many Scarecrows Can I Have?
Typically 4–5, but up to 20 with certain card classes. Your starting scarecrow limit depends on your pet. Specific card classes (when you collect enough cards of that class) can increase your scarecrow capacity. You can also remove scarecrows to free up slots for better ones.
Do Card Class Bonuses Require Planting?
No. Community answers and developer discussion point to card class bonuses being based on having cards in your deck, not planting those crops on the field. This matters because a class route can shape your run before every crop has been drawn or planted.
Each crop card can have two classes, so a build can mix one primary class route with a secondary class route. Piotrek described this as intentional: the system pushes players toward multiple crops instead of repeating a single crop every run.
Do Duplicate Crops Count For Class Bonuses?
Yes, based on Discord answers from experienced players: multiple copies of the same crop and enhanced cards can contribute additional class benefits. Merging cards should not remove class bonus contribution you already had.
Rarity and tier matter more than raw card count. The reported point values are:
| Card tier | Class points |
|---|---|
| Normal / common | 1 |
| Rare | 2 |
| Epic | 4 |
| Legendary | 10 |
Some upgrade behavior still needs review because player screenshot testing and developer shorthand do not fully line up for every case.
Do Temporary Generated Cards Count For Class Bonuses?
Treat this as needs-review. One player asked whether generated Exhaust cards count. Wilson was unsure, and later player testing said they did not seem to count. Until repeatable evidence or developer confirmation appears, plan around permanent deck cards for class thresholds.
How Do I Get Scarecrow Packs?
Scarecrow packs appear randomly during gameplay. There are roughly 21 card packs total, and the scarecrow pack is one of them. Every season picks 3 biomes, and packs appear on the branching map as you progress. There is no guaranteed scarecrow pack — it is RNG.
Is Endless Mode Actually Endless?
Yes. The developer confirmed it is “literally endless.” Taxes continue increasing by season, but strong decks can outscale the tax curve and keep going. There is no known hard season cap.
How Are Bonus Gems Calculated?
Treat this as unknown for now. Players have asked whether early payment bonuses depend on leftover cash, days used, or another conversion rate. Until the formula is measured or confirmed, this site will not publish an exact bonus-gem calculation.
Can I Share A Build?
Yes. The Build Planner encodes selected cards and scarecrows in the URL query string. Copy the URL to share with friends. Locally saved builds stay on your current device via localStorage.
Can Multiple People Use Separate Profiles?
Not currently, based on Discord discussion. A player asked about separate Profiles for shared-household play, and the community answer was that no multi-profile option could be found. Treat this as a current limitation unless a later patch adds profile support.
Is The Profit Calculator Exact?
No. It is a transparent estimate based on visible inputs. Use it to compare assumptions, then update the numbers when you confirm game data.
Why Does Cabbage Not Trigger Big Spender?
Big Spender requires the first card played each day to cost 2 or more energy. If you play a 0-cost card first, or use the vanishing “Extra Cabbage” (which costs only 1 energy), Big Spender will not trigger. The developer confirmed this is working as intended.
Why Are Some Cards Always Drawn Last?
Card draw in Cropdeck is not 100% random — it has weighted probabilities. The developer has confirmed: “There are some weights to it. Actually it’s on my todo to tweak this.” The Beehive card, in particular, was known to have low draw priority before it was fixed in patch 1.0.6.
Why Does The Game Freeze At Launch?
This is a known issue. The developer’s recommended fix: install and run the free demo once, which resolves the missing file dependency. Also affects players on EndeavourOS, Steam Deck, and macOS.
Known Bug: FPS Drop When Choosing Rewards
Multiple players across macOS, Steam Deck, EndeavourOS, and Windows report significant FPS drops when completing a level and choosing rewards. The developer is aware: “Yup, I know about it. On my to-do list to make it smoother.”
Known Bug: Golden Brush + Rice = Infinite Harvests
Using a Golden Brush on Rice currently causes a bug that grants infinite harvests instead of the intended 2. The developer has been notified.
Does Progress From The Demo Transfer?
Yes. Progress from the free Cropdeck demo transfers to the full game.
Why Only English Pages?
The URL structure is ready for more locales, but only complete English pages are published in v1. Empty translations are not indexed.
